Job summary

CS UK Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Children’s Home Registered Manager to open, establish and lead a small children’s home in the Derby area, regulated by Ofsted and focused on a child with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

You must hold Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare and have at least 3 years’ residential childcare experience with 2+ years at supervisory level.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting with 2+ years at supervisory/management level.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Ofsted registration and launch of the home.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a small, therapeutic and child-centred team.
• Establish a nurturing and structured environment tailored to the individual needs of one child.
• Maintain safeguarding and compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted expectations.
• Build relationships with local authorities, external professionals, and families.
• Embed a culture of reflection, stability and care prioritising the child’s long-term outcomes.

Job description

An incredible new job opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children's Home Registered Manager to open, establish and lead a small sized children’s home located in the Derby area

This will be an Ofsted-regulated children’s home providing focused care for a child with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)

**To be considered for this position you must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare + Minimum 3 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting with 2+ years at supervisory/Deputy/management level**

As the Manager your key responsibilities include:

• Oversee the Ofsted registration and successful launch of the solo home
• Recruit, develop, and lead a small, dedicated team with a therapeutic and child-centred approach
• Establish a nurturing and structured environment tailored to the individual needs of one child
• Maintain high standard of safeguarding and compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted expectations
• Build strong relationships with local authorities, external professionals, and families
• Embed a culture of reflection, stability and care that priorities the long-term outcomes of the child

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential setting (EBD/solo care preferred)
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ofsted inspection frameworks
• A resilient, compassionate leader who can establish a positive culture from the outset
• A commitment to therapeutic, trauma-informed care and improving outcomes for children
• Must be able to speak and understand English to a good standard for effective communication, record-keeping and safeguarding the wellbeing of those you will be supporting

The successful Manager will receive an excellent salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum - Pay frequency is monthly. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 40 hours from 9am-5pm. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
