Job summary

The Green Estate is seeking a Production Operative (Warehouse/Seed & Turf) in Sheffield. The role involves supporting seed production warehouse operations, including mixing, dispatch, stock taking and quality control, plus turf and soil production tasks. A UK driving license is essential.

Based in Sheffield (S2), the position requires experience with inventory software, strong IT skills, and a team-oriented approach to ensure accurate, timely orders and adherence to processes. Interviews soon.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations with stock control and inventory management.
• Experience using inventory software or systems; good IT literacy.
• Experience in landscape maintenance and operating landscape machinery (hand mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers).
• Eye for detail; proven ability to follow systems and processes; works well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support 3 days per week with general running of the Pictorial Meadows seed production warehouse: mixing, dispatch, stock taking and quality control; ensure timely order delivery.
• 1 day per week assist meadow turf, seed and soil production operations maintaining high quality and efficiency.

PLEASE NOTE: This job is based in Sheffield, S2. Authorization to work in the UK and a valid UK driving license are ESSENTIAL.

The Green Estate CIC is an award-winning social enterprise which aims to grow green and resilient urban places for people and nature to thrive. We have recently launched an ambitious three year growth plan which includes expanding our commercial nature-based solutions products and services across the UK and EU and raising our profile as a national urban resilience demonstrator.

Applicants will have experience of warehouse operations and working with inventory software/systems, good IT skills, experience in landscape maintenance and confidence in using and maintaining landscape machinery such as hand mowers, hedge cutters and strimmers. They will have an eye for detail, a track record in adhering to systems and processes and be a team player. A full UK driving license and the ability and willingness to drive company vehicles is also essential.

For 3 days per week the postholder will assist with the general running of our Pictorial Meadows seed production warehouse including mixing and dispatch, stock taking and quality control and ensuring that our customers receive their orders in a timely manner, and for 1 day per week they will assist with meadow turf, seed and soil production operations ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
