Job summary

The Best Connection Group Limited in Seahouses is seeking a Class 2 Driver to join our client, a leading independent Builders' Merchant. You will deliver building materials and timber to sites in the local area and represent the company professionally at delivery points.

The role is a temporary ongoing position with potential to become permanent. Typical hours are 07:30–17:00, with overtime paid at 1.5x (£24.75/hr) after eight hours. Weekly pay and pension are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 Licence is required.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph card are required.
• Penalty points must be 6 or fewer for insurance purposes.
• Experience in construction supply/merchant industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver building materials and timber to trade and residential sites in the local area.
• Carry out daily vehicle walk-around checks and keep records.
• Represent the company professionally at the point of delivery.

Job description

The Best Connection are currently seeking a Class 2 (Category C) Driver for our client, a leading independent Builders' Merchant, based at their Seahouses branch.

This is a temporary ongoing position, however, there is possibility for the right candidate to become permanent if the role is a good fit.

The Role:

• Delivering building materials and timber to trade and residential sites across the local area.
• Conducting daily vehicle walk-around checks and maintaining records.
• Acting as a professional face of the company at the point of delivery.

Shift Pattern & Pay:

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 17:00.
• Hourly Rate: £16.50 per hour.
• Overtime: Paid at x1.5 (£24.75 per hour) after 8 hours worked each day.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Valid HIAB Certification (ALLMI or equivalent) would be an advantage.
• Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
• Experience in the construction supply or merchant industry is highly desirable.
