Job summary

The Best Connection is looking for a Class 2 Driver for our Seahouses client, a leading independent builders' merchant. This temporary ongoing role may become permanent for the right fit.

Responsibilities include delivering materials, performing daily vehicle checks, and representing the company professionally on site. Overtime paid after 8 hours at enhanced rates.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• HIAB certification (ALLMI or equivalent) is advantageous.
• Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card required.

• Conduct daily vehicle walk-around checks and maintain records.
• Represent the company professionally at the point of delivery.

Job description

The Best Connection are currently seeking a Class 2 (Category C) Driver for our client, a leading independent Builders' Merchant, based at their Seahouses branch.

This is a temporary ongoing position, however, there is possibility for the right candidate to become permanent if the role is a good fit.

The Role:

• Delivering building materials and timber to trade and residential sites across the local area.
• Conducting daily vehicle walk-around checks and maintaining records.
• Acting as a professional face of the company at the point of delivery.

Shift Pattern & Pay:

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 17:00.
• Hourly Rate: £16.50 per hour.
• Overtime: Paid at x1.5 (£24.75 per hour) after 8 hours worked each day.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Valid HIAB Certification (ALLMI or equivalent) would be an advantage.
• Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
• Experience in the construction supply or merchant industry is highly desirable.
