Job summary

Pixieland Nurseries in Plymouth is seeking a Nursery Room Leader to join our friendly team and support children’s play, learning and development. The role offers the chance to learn skills on the job while maintaining a professional yet fun environment that helps children thrive within our nursery family.

The post is a full-time role, 45 hours per week Monday to Friday. You will lead the room, supervise colleagues, create engaging programmes and record children’s development in line with EYFS

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ level 3 in childcare or above.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in childcare.
• Continuous training and Development.
• Disclosures: DBS check required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the room and team in the nursery.
• Create programmes and activities for the children.
• Keep records of children’s development and liaise with parents.
• Uphold safeguarding practices with the team.
• Prepare and maintain environments to meet children’s needs.
• Complete transfer documents and ensure they meet EYFS requirements.

The hours for this role are 45 hours per week Monday to Friday

Purpose of post

• To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children in the nursery
• To give support to other team members within the nursery and lead the room with your team
• To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop
• Leading and supporting your team
• Creating programmes and activities for the children
• Keep records of children’s development and liaise with parents
• Upholding safeguarding practices with your team
• Preparing and maintaining environments to meet children’s needs
• Supporting your team to develop their role with the help of your manager
• Complete transfer documents and ensure they meet EYFS requirements
