Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Senior Site Agent / Project Manager for a major Wastewater Treatment Works upgrade near Penrith in the North West. The role covers both civils and MEICA, with responsibility for delivering the £10m–£15m project on time, safely, and to client specifications.

You will manage site teams and subcontractors, uphold RAMS and environmental standards, and report to the Project Director. Willingness to travel across Cumbria and the North West is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven site leadership experience in UK water/amp projects.
• Solid understanding of civil and MEICA scopes.
• Relevant health & safety certifications are required.

Senior Site Agent - Water Infrastructure

Long-term contract (2-3 year contract)

Location - Penrith

Are you an experienced Site Agent or Project Manager with extensive water industry experience looking for guaranteed long-term contract stability in the North West? We at Randstad are partnering with a premier tier-one civil infrastructure contractor to recruit a Senior Site Agent for a key Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) upgrade near Penrith.

With secured work spanning both AMP8 and AMP9, this role offers a 5+ year framework longevity across Cumbria and the wider North West region (including major flagship projects in Lancashire and Greater Manchester).

As the Senior Site Agent / PM, you will be responsible for:

Leading the daily delivery of a £10m-£15m WWTW upgrade project, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to exact client specifications.

Overseeing a balanced mix of heavy civil engineering and MEICA installation activities across site.

Managing site teams, subcontractors, and gangs while driving a zero-harm safety culture.

Ensuring full compliance with site permits, RAMS, temporary works procedures, and environmental standards.

Maintaining strong client relationships and reporting site progress directly to the Project Director.

Providing operational flexibility to support adjacent water infrastructure projects across Cumbria, Lancashire, and Greater Manchester as required.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

Proven track record as a Site Agent or Project Manager within the UK Water Industry (AMP framework experience is essential).

Solid technical understanding of both Civils and MEICA operational scopes.

HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering / Construction

CSCS Black or Gold Card

SMSTS (or IOSH)

First Aid

A Full UK Driving License

Location: Ideally based in Cumbria or the North West with willingness to travel to project hubs (e.g., Penrith, Blackburn, Manchester).
