  • Providing practical advice on sustainable and environmentally beneficial farming practices.
  • Identifying opportunities for habitat creation, biodiversity enhancement and landscape scale environmental improvements.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of farm based projects and capital works.
  • Assisting farmers in accessing environmental schemes, grants and funding opportunities.
  • Working with partner organisations, regulators and industry stakeholders.
  • Organising farmer meetings, workshops and knowledge sharing events.
  • Monitoring project progress and reporting environmental outcomes.
  • Contributing to funding applications and future projects.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members.

The Job;

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced agricultural professional to join a well established environmental organisation delivering practical projects across a rural landscape. Working closely with farmers, landowners and partner organisations, you will play a key role in supporting sustainable farming practices that deliver benefits for both farm businesses and the wider environment. This is a varied and rewarding position, combining farm engagement, project development, habitat enhancement and partnership working. The successful candidate will become a trusted adviser to farmers, helping identify opportunities to improve land management, enhance biodiversity, strengthen water resources and access environmental funding.

Key responsibilities:
  • Building strong relationships with farmers, landowners and rural stakeholders
  • Providing practical advice on sustainable and environmentally beneficial farming practices
  • Identifying opportunities for habitat creation, biodiversity enhancement and landscape scale environmental improvements
  • Supporting the development and delivery of farm based projects and capital works
  • Assisting farmers in accessing relevant environmental schemes, grants and emerging funding opportunities
  • Working collaboratively with partner organisations, regulators and industry stakeholders
  • Organising and facilitating farmer meetings, workshops and knowledge sharing events
  • Monitoring project progress and reporting on environmental outcomes
  • Contributing to funding applications and the development of future projects
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team where required
The Candidate:
  • Experience working within agriculture, environmental consultancy, conservation or a related sector
  • Sound understanding of farming systems and environmental land management
  • Background in ecology, conservation, habitat management or biodiversity enhancement would be highly beneficial
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong project management and organisational abilities
  • Practical and collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with farmers, landowners and partner organisations
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
