Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee a diverse organic mixed farming operation in the UK. You will lead a small team, develop livestock and market garden activities, and drive sustainable farming initiatives across education and commercial activities.

Role involves rota-based weekends, evenings, bank holidays, and occasional on-call duties, with a hands-on outdoor work environment and opportunities for training and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Strong livestock and general farm-management experience.
  • Experience in organic, regenerative or sustainable farming.
  • Experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a team.
  • Good knowledge of animal welfare, health & safety and farm compliance.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Flexible approach and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage organic crop production, harvesting and supply to the farm shop and veg scheme
  • Lead and support staff, volunteers and students
  • Operate and oversee tractors, machinery and farm equipment

  • Maintain high standards of animal welfare, health & safety and organic compliance
  • Support practical agricultural training, educational activities and community projects
  • Develop sustainable and commercially successful farming opportunities

Job description

The Job:

An opportunity for an experienced Farm Manager to take responsibility for the day to day running of the farm, a diverse organic mixed farming operation. You’ll play a key role in developing the Farm’s livestock, market garden, commercial and educational activities, while leading a small team and helping deliver a sustainable and successful farming enterprise.

The business operates 7 days a week, so the role includes rota-based weekend, evening and bank-holiday work, with occasional on call duties.

Candidate Requirements
