Job description

The Job:

An established independent property and land consultancy is looking to recruit a Rural Surveyor to strengthen its growing rural practice in Cambridgeshire. This role offers the opportunity to work with a broad client base including farming businesses, private estates, investors and rural landowners across a wide range of professional disciplines. This position would suit an experienced surveyor seeking greater responsibility, autonomy and exposure to a varied mix of agency, professional and strategic rural consultancy work.

Key responsibilities:
  • Rural property valuations for a variety of purposes
  • Agricultural and rural property sales, acquisitions and lettings
  • Landlord and tenant matters, including agricultural tenancy agreements
  • Contract farming and other farming business arrangements
  • Utility, infrastructure and renewable energy projects
  • Compensation and compulsory purchase work
  • Strategic advice to landowners on asset management and business opportunities
  • Working alongside planning, development and environmental specialists on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through proactive advice and service delivery
  • Supporting wider business growth through networking and industry engagement
The Candidate:
  • A professional qualification within Rural Surveying, Rural Land Management or a related disciplin
  • MRICS, FAAV or CAAV status, or progression towards a relevant professional qualification
  • At least five years' experience within a rural surveying environment
  • Sound technical knowledge across rural professional practice and agency
  • Confidence dealing directly with landowners, farming clients and professional advisers
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem solving ability
  • Excellent report writing, negotiation and communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Full UK driving licence

Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
