Job summary

St Edward’s School in Oxford is seeking a Grounds Operative to join the Grounds Department. Set on a 100-acre estate, the role involves maintaining lawns, landscaped areas, residential spaces and sports facilities.

You will work as part of a friendly team to keep the grounds presented to a high standard. Key duties include mowing and setting out pitches, hedge cutting, planting and pruning, turf care, litter collection and safe operation of grounds machinery.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance of lawns, landscaped areas, residential spaces and sports surfaces
• Preparation and upkeep of sports pitches, including mowing and setting out
• Hedge cutting, planting, pruning and general horticultural tasks
• Turf care, footpath maintenance and litter collection
• Safe use and basic maintenance of grounds machinery and equipment
• Supporting School activities and events when required
