Job summary

eTeach UK Limited is looking for a Farm and Estate Technician to join the College's Farm and Estate team. The role focuses on practical learning for students, demonstrating machinery operation and livestock husbandry to small groups, while supporting an 180ha estate with crops, livestock and equine enterprises.

You will operate and maintain tractors and other machinery, carry out seasonal tasks, and shape the role with guidance from the Head of Easton Estate.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of livestock husbandry (beef and sheep).
• Experience operating modern farm machinery and its safe use.
• Full UK driving licence (Essential).
• Commitment to safety, cleanliness and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical learning opportunities for students, including demonstrating machinery operation and livestock husbandry to small groups.
• Collaborate with Estate technicians across the 180ha estate (crop production, livestock, and equine).
• Operate and maintain tractors, mowers, and other machinery safely and effectively.
• Carry out seasonal farm and estate tasks for demonstrations and routine estate management.

Farm and Estate Technician 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year£27,994 - £29,856 per annumWe are seeking to recruit an ambitious, motivated and conscientious technician to join the College's Farm and Estate team. This is a great opportunity for an individual to join a progressive team applying modern practices and techniques across the Estates machinery and livestock operations and become the lead for the demonstration of our techniques and standards to students, staff and the public.The successful individual will have the opportunity to significantly shape their role and influence the other enterprises that they are involved with, with the support of the Head of Easton Estate.So, if you take pride in achieving high standards, want to have a positive influence on the future of the land-based sector by passing on your skills, knowledge and experience, then this could be the role for you.

About the Role:

• You will provide practical learning opportunities for students, including the demonstration of both machinery operation and livestock husbandry skills to small groups.
• Work with other Estate technicians in the operation of the Colleges 180ha estate including Crop production, Livestock and Equine enterprises.
• Operate and maintain tractors, mowers and other machinery safely and effectively.
• Carry out a wide range of seasonal farm and estate tasks to provide both demonstration to students and as part of the routine Estate management.

We are looking for the following key qualities:

• A passion for practical outdoor work and pride in achieving high standards.
• A solid, practical knowledge of Livestock husbandry (Beef and Sheep) and operational experience of modern farm machinery and its operation. (Essential)
• Strong communication skills and a passion for the land-based sector.
• The ability to work well in a team but also independently using your own initiative.
• A full UK driving licence. (Essential)
• High expectations for safety, cleanliness and presentation.
