Job summary

University of Nottingham is seeking a hands-on Estates Farm Dairy unit role at Sutton Bonington, supporting the Dairy Unit (robot milked) and other enterprises within the farm. The post offers a busy environment with a mix of machinery work and hands-on animal welfare.

This role is an opportunity for an early career applicant or someone with experience who would like to work in a busy farm environment.

You will join a young dynamic team and assist primarily in the Dairy Unit (robot milked) but also with the Sheep, Youngstock, Beef and Arable enterprises throughout the year.

The role is a mixture of machinery based work and hands‑on animal welfare.

The role requires confidence with livestock, ability to operate modern machinery, team working skills and an ability to follow farm procedures.

This post will work a minimum 36.25 hours per week plus regular overtime paid at x 1.5 rate for any hours worked over 36.25 per week and at x 2 rate for bank holidays and university closure days. Hours worked by rota averaging 5 days out of 7 including early mornings, some evenings and regular weekends.
