Sasse Limited, at Arriva Durham bus depot, is hiring a General Service Operative (GSO) for a full-time 37.5-hour week with a 17:30–01:30 shift. You will support fleet operations, including shunting, fuelling, cleaning and safety checks, with full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Process vehicles on return to depot.
• Move and manoeuvre vehicles/buses within depot according to plan.
• Maintain cleanliness of buses and facilities; waste removal.
• Perform fuelling tasks.
• Conduct visual checks for damage and ensure windows are closed before wash.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures.
• Complete additional site duties as assigned.
• Provide timely, courteous service at customer sites.

We are currently recruiting for a Full-time General Service Operative (GSO) at Arriva Durham bus depot, and we are looking to hear from candidates who are positive, have a can-do attitude and have ambition to grow.

The Role

As a General Service Operative, you will play an essential role in ensuring our fleet operates smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Process the vehicles on their return to the depot.
• Moving and manoeuvre vehicles/ buses within the depot, following instructions from the allocator and parking according to the parking plan.
• Maintaining overall cleanliness, including bus and facility cleaning, waste removal.
• Performing fuelling tasks.
• Conducting visual checks for any damage, reporting issues, and ensuring all windows are closed before buses enter the wash.
• Follow strict Health & Safety procedures and instructions.
• The role will also have additional site duties in line with General Service Operative
• Delivering timely, efficient, and courteous service on customer sites.
• Full training and support will be provided by our team, no formal qualifications are needed
• Full UK car (B category) driving licence,
