Job summary

Speenhamland School is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and compassionate SENCO to join our dedicated team. We are proud to be an inclusive school where children are at the heart of every decision we make and where our vision shapes all aspects of school life.

We are looking for someone who can lead inclusion, understands the SEND Code of Practice, and has the National Award for SEN Coordination or is willing to undertake it.

Qualifications

  • This role requires strong leadership and strategic thinking in SEND inclusion.
  • Excellent communication with pupils, families, staff and external professionals.
  • Solid understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead inclusion across the school and shape strategic SEND development.
  • Collaborate with families, staff and external agencies to support pupils with SEND.
  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare practices are embedded across SEND provision.

  • Is committed to removing barriers to learning and promoting belonging for all.
  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination or is willing to undertake it.
