Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for a Frome school on a day-to-day, flexible basis. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEMH, ASC, and attachment needs through 1:1 and small-group sessions.

You will implement trauma-informed strategies and work closely with teachers and therapy teams to monitor progress and wellbeing, while modelling resilience and empathy for students.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, ASC, or neurodivergent learners is preferred.
• Trauma-informed, non-judgemental, patient approach is essential.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and support pupils' wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Act as a reliable mentor and positive role model, helping students build self-esteem and emotional resilience.
• Maintain clear communication with teaching staff and specialised therapy teams to monitor pupil progress and well-being.

Qualifications

• Strong passion for working with children or young people with SEMH, ASC, or neurodivergent needs.
• Experience in schools, care, or community settings is highly desirable.
• A trauma-informed mindset characterised by a non-judgemental, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Excellent resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to engage in specialist training.
