Job summary

CareTech is recruiting Bank Support Workers to join Magnolia Lodge in Maidstone, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. No previous experience needed; full training and a structured induction programme provided to develop a rewarding, long-term career.

As a Bank Support Worker you will deliver person-centred care, assist with daily living skills, promote independence and wellbeing, and participate in a rota that includes evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins

Qualifications

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living tasks and personal care as needed.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

About the Service – Magnolia Lodge

Magnolia Lodge (rated Good by the CQC) is a care home which provides residential care and accommodation for up 10 x adults who have learning and physical disabilities. The home is a large detached building situated on a main road on the outskirts of Reading. It is situated near to local amenities and public transport.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Bank Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
