Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join a leading Essex NHS Trust theatre team. You will safely prepare, check and assemble equipment and help receive patients for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.

The role requires current HCPC registration, at least 1 year post-graduate experience, and UK experience within the last 3 years. Flexible shifts, support from a dedicated consultant, and ongoing CPD opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Current HCPC registration.
• At least 1 year's post-graduate experience.
• 6 months recent UK experience within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• To safetly identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
• Prepare and organise the clinical area to receive patients for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
• Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information using various methods to ensure effective understanding.
• Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
• Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and prioritise the care for patients undergoing a surgical / anaesthetic procedure.
