Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is seeking a qualified Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) for locum placements across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, covering Southend University Hospital, Basildon Hospital and Broomfield Hospital.

The role involves joining a multi-skilled anaesthetic team to deliver safe, high-quality care across several surgical specialties. UK-wide right to work is required, with shifts Monday to Friday 08:00-18:00 and flexible opportunities.

Qualifications

• HCPC or NMC registration required.
• Minimum of 6 months UK operating theatre experience.
• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• ILS or Paediatric ILS (Immediate Life Support).
• Mentoring or teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality care across a range of surgical specialties.
• Be part of a multi-skilled anaesthetic team delivering patient care.
• Support across sites within Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a multi-skilled anaesthetic team delivering safe, high-quality care across a range of surgical specialties, including:

• Head & Neck
• Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• General Surgery
• Urology
• Vascular
• HCPC or NMC Registration (RGN/ODP)
• Minimum of 6 months UK based Operating Theatre experience
• Right to work in the UK (No visa sponsorship is available for this role)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Immediate Life Support (ILS) / Paediatric ILS
• Mentoring or teaching qualification
