Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Ltd is seeking Winter Maintenance Drivers to support winter road maintenance across the Moray area. Two options are available: Winter Patrol Driver and Winter Maintenance Driver/Operative, with duties ranging from patrolling to operating gritters and ploughs.

Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence with LGV Class 2 / Category C entitlement. Training can be provided; be prepared for early starts, nights, weekends and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence with LGV Class 2 / Category C entitlement.
• Desirable: experience driving gritters or winter maintenance.
• Willing to work early starts, nights, weekends, standby.
• Comfortable outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable and safety-conscious team player.

Responsibilities

• Carry out winter road patrols during morning and night shifts.
• Drive HGV gritters and snow ploughs to keep roads safe.
• Carry out vehicle checks and other winter maintenance duties.
• When not driving, undertake yard-based work and equipment prep.
• Support the wider winter maintenance operation.

Winter Maintenance Drivers

for seasonal positions supporting winter road maintenance operations across the Moray area.

two options available, depending on your preference and experience:

Option 1 - Winter Patrol Driver

• Carry out scheduled winter road patrols during morning and night shifts.
• Drive HGV gritters and snow ploughs to help keep roads safe during adverse weather.
• Carry out vehicle checks and other winter maintenance duties as required.

Option 2 - Winter Maintenance Driver / Operative

• Carry out winter road patrols and operate gritters and snow ploughs when required.
• When not driving, undertake daytime duties off the vehicle, including yard-based work, preparing equipment and supporting the wider winter maintenance operation.

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence with LGV Class 2 / Category C entitlement.
• Previous experience driving gritters or working in winter maintenance/roadworks is desirable, although training can be provided.
• Flexible approach to early starts, night shifts, weekends and standby.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and willing to support the wider winter maintenance team.
