Mencap in Ipswich is seeking a Support Worker to help people with learning disabilities live independently and with dignity. You will assist with daily activities and provide emotional support as part of a compassionate, dedicated team.

The role is full-time permanent, with a salary of £24,785 per year. Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins are available, and a driver is preferred where possible.

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Ipswich.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this vacancy at this point in time due to high internal demand and non-availability of certificates of sponsorship.

What we're looking for:

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
• Sleep in shifts also available.
• A driver would be preferred

Contract options:

• Full-time: 37.5 hrs
• Part-time : flexible hours based on availability
• Relief: Flexible working with no set hours/shifts

Shift times:

• Days: Between 07:00-22:00
• Sleep-ins: 22:00-07:00

There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £64.20.
