Job summary

Mencap is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for its services in Uckfield. You will join a team supporting people with learning disabilities, helping with daily activities and delivering compassionate care to enable individuals to live the life they choose.

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Full Time Support Worker to join our incredible team in Uckfield, East Sussex.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life, supporting them to live the life that they choose.

What we're looking for:

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Being able to stand back and support and not do for.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, sleep ins and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Contract options:

• Full time: 37.5 Hrs
• Days: Between 07:00-22:00

Shift times:

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

• Days: Between 07:00-22:00
• Sleep-in available. From 22.00 – 07.00 where you sleep at the service and can be woken if there is an emergency. Receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £64.20.
