Job summary

Royal Mencap Society in Plymouth is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our team on a full-time or part-time permanent basis. You will support individuals with learning disabilities with daily activities and emotional support, building relationships and promoting independence.

A valid driver's license is required, and you may work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Sleep-in options available with enhanced pay; DBS check and references are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities is beneficial.
• Full and valid driving license is preferred.
• Ability to build meaningful relationships and provide emotional support.

Job description

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Plymouth on a Full time or Part time permanant basis

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

What we're looking for:

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

This role requires you to be a driver.

Contract options :

• Full-time: 37.5 hrs
• Part-time: flexible hours based on availability

Drivers desired but not essential

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

• Days: Between 07:00-22:00

There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £ 64.20.

*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
