Two to three is an exciting stage of Early Years - language is developing, independence is growing and personalities are really beginning to shine through.
We’re looking for an experienced Room Leader to take the lead within a 2-3-year-old room, creating a warm and engaging environment where children can explore, build confidence and develop at their own pace. You’ll understand the needs of this age group and know how to balance growing independence with the reassurance, consistency and care young children still need.
Alongside being hands-on with the children, you’ll support and guide your room team, ensuring everyone works together to provide consistently high-quality Early Years experiences.
What We’re Looking For
A
full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
Previous nursery experience, with
strong experience working with 2-3-year-olds
Room Leader, Senior Practitioner or similar leadership experience would be beneficial
Strong knowledge of the
EYFS and child development
A good understanding of the developmental needs of toddlers
Confidence leading, supporting and motivating a room team
Strong safeguarding knowledge
A warm, patient and engaging approach with children and families

Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the 2-3-year-old room
Create engaging experiences that reflect children's interests and developmental needs
Support children's language, independence, confidence and social development
Lead and support practitioners within the room
Observe children's development and plan meaningful next steps
Maintain a stimulating, organised and welcoming learning environment
Build positive relationships with parents and carers
Support smooth transitions as children progress through the nursery
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing
