Job summary

Tarmac is hiring a Multi Skilled Operative at Wellington Sand and Gravel Quarry in Hereford, serving Worcester and surrounding towns. You will report to the Plant Supervisor and handle daily production and operational tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidate has plant operational experience, holds a UK driving licence, and ideally a forklift licence; training provided. The role offers career progression and a strong focus on health and safety.

Qualifications

• Must have plant operations experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Forklift truck and loading shovel licences preferred (training provided).
• Team player with a proactive attitude and commitment to health and safety.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all operational activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Meet daily production target requirements.
• Support site KPIs, including quality, health and safety, and housekeeping.
• Assist and work with the site fitter on basic operator-led maintenance.
• Maintain high site standards and thorough housekeeping.
• Provide excellent customer service with on-time deliveries to a varied customer base.
• Carry out inspections on the plant and perform daily maintenance.
• Ensure stocks are replenished and kept at good levels.

Multi Skilled Operative

to join ourteam at Tarmac Wellington Sand and Gravel Quarry in Hereford. This role is accessible from Worcester, Leominster, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Ledbury, Leominster, Ludlow, Malvern, Craven Arms, Kidderminster, Tenbury Wells, Bewdley, Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye, Cinderford and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility

reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor, you willbe responsible for:

• All operational activities within a manufacturing environment


• Meeting daily production target requirements


• Supporting all site KPI’s including quality, Health and Safety, site housekeeping


• Supporting and working alongside our site fitter on basic operator lead maintenance


• Housekeeping and delivering excellent site standards.


• Working with a team focused on great customer service, especially providinggood qualitymaterial and on-time deliveries to a varied customer base


• Carrying out inspections on the plant and carry out housekeeping tasks and basic daily maintenance


• Ensuring stocks are replenished andmaintainedto good levels

The Ideal Candidate

will havepreviousplant operational experience. You will also:

• Be flexible and able todemonstrateacan doattitude


• Possess initiative and be able to think for themselves


• Hold a full UK driving Licence


• Be a team player and an affective communicator


• Ideally to have a forklift truck and loading shovel licence (training will be given to the right candidate)


• Have a good attitude towards Health and Safety and the environment


• Hard working and willing to learn new skills
