Job summary

Tarmac Trading Limited is recruiting a Plant Supervisor for the Readymix team at our Coleford Concrete Plant in Gloucestershire. The role oversees RMX operations, ensures safety and quality, and coordinates with distribution and technical teams to meet customer needs.

Ideal candidates have plant operations experience (Ready Mix/Aggregates preferred) and are proactive in identifying improvements while maintaining high standards of site housekeeping and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant operations, preferably Ready Mix/ Aggregates.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of health and safety policies and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Support RMX Production Manager in plant compliance with policies.
• Batch concrete to meet customer needs and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with Readymix Distribution Teams to meet deliveries.
• Collaborate with Readymix Technical Teams for quality control.
• Maintain site housekeeping and ensure safety of crew and contractors.

Plant Supervisorto join our fantastic Readymix team based our Tarmac Coleford Concrete Plant in Gloucestershire. This role is easily accessible from Monmouth, Cinderford, Lydney, Chepstow, Newport, Abergavenny, Cwmbran, Hereford, Ross on Wye, Ledbury, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Tewkesbury, Cirencester, Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the ReadyMix Production Manager, the role of

Plant Supervisoris an operational role responsible for managing and being accountable for the RMX operations on our plant. Safety and operational standards are the fundamentals of the role of

Plant Supervisor,delivery to customer needs and performance improvement being key.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the RMX Production Manager in the management of plant compliance with business policies and procedures
• Batching concrete to meet customer needs whilst meeting internal quality requirements
• Ensuring Readymix deliveries are met, engaging with Readymix Distribution Teams throughout
• Working closely with Readymix Technical Teams to ensure quality control of all products
• Ensuring that legislative compliance is also a strong aspect of the role.
• Overseeing all aspects of daily production including operational costs and control stocks
• Taking responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues, contractors and business partners
• Maintaining site housekeeping to a high standard

Key stakeholders within this role are RMW Production Manager, RMX General Manager, Aggregates Distribution Teams, Quarry Teams, Customers collecting orders.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of

Plant Supervisorwill already have experience in plant operations preferably within a Ready Mix / Aggregates environment however this is not essential as we also welcome applications from candidates with hands on manufacturing experience too.

Suitable candidates

Plant Supervisorwill also:

• Actively identify and implement site and process improvements
• Be happy to multitask and manage change
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels (both internally and externally)
• Evidence good time management skills
• Be flexible and adaptable to ensure delivery of customer requirements and workload priorities (paid overtime)
• Enjoy working as part of a team and be able to motivate others
• Have full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems as well as working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
• Have working knowledge of production processes
• IOSH Managing Safely (preferred but we will train)
• NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations (preferred but we will train)
