Job summary

Hunter Selection Limited has a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Toolmaker in the plastics sector. The role is a day-shift, in-house position with on-site parking and a pension scheme, suitable for someone with strong toolmaking experience.

You will repair, manufacture and service injection mould tools from drawings and 3D CAD data, work with hardened steels, hot runner systems and valve gates, and mentor apprentices in the toolroom while driving productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• Qualified plastic injection mould tool toolmaker.
• Experience with CNC/CAD/CAM.
• Develop Apprentices within the toolroom.
• Ability to work on fully hardened steel production tools.
• Experience with hot runner systems / valve gates and manifolds.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify existing production tooling when required.
• Manufacture new injection mould tools from technical drawings and 3D CAD data to a high level of workmanship in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Service and maintain existing production tooling to the service schedules.
• Operate all toolroom plant and machinery safely ensuring necessary protective clothing and equipment is used at all times.
• Suggest any possible improvements to tooling or processes, for assessment by Technical Manager.
• Be proactive in suggesting improvements in productivity and efficiency.

This is a great opportunity for a Toolmaker to join a rapidly expanding business who are in the process of introducing now processes and machinery. The position will be a days regular role, providing you the opportunity to get off shift work.
