Rapier Employment is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (C) Drivers for a leading retail logistics operation based in Hatfield. This role offers guaranteed shifts until December/January, ongoing work, and immediate starts with premium overtime rates.

Routes cover North London, Essex and Kent, with palletised loads and minimal manual handling. Day and late shifts are available; weekly pay is standard with pension and holiday pay.

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).
• Knowledge of Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and transport legislation.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Complete store deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Transport palletised loads with minimal manual handling.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.

Rapier Employment is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Drivers for a leading retail logistics operation based in Hatfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure ongoing work with regular shift patterns, premium overtime rates, and long-term opportunities.

Shift Patterns

• Tuesday to Saturday
• Sunday to Thursday
• Thursday to Monday
• Friday to Tuesday

Start Times

• Day Shifts: 04:00 - 06:00
• Late Shifts: 12:00 - 17:00

Pay Rates

Standard Hours

• £20.44 per hour (04:00 - 13:00)
• £21.76 per hour (13:00 - 04:00)

Overtime (After 8 Hours)

• £30.65 per hour (04:00 - 13:00)
• £32.65 per hour (13:00 - 04:00)

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 or 2 Driver, you'll deliver retail goods from the distribution centre to stores across North London, Essex, and Kent. Routes are well planned and consist primarily of palletised loads, with minimal manual handling required.

Depending on operational requirements, you may occasionally be asked to complete a second run.

Your Responsibilities

• Completing store deliveries safely and efficiently
• Transporting predominantly palletised loads with minimal manual handling
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
• Completing all transport paperwork and maintaining legal compliance
• Providing a professional and friendly service at every delivery point

Average shift lengths are 8-12 hours, with consistent start times and ongoing work available throughout the peak period.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need:
