Job summary

Rapier Employment is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) and Class 2 (C) Drivers for a leading retail logistics operation based in Hatfield. This role offers consistent work with regular shift patterns and premium overtime rates.

You will deliver retail goods from the distribution centre to stores across North London, Essex and Kent, with standard hours and overtime available. Weekly pay and guaranteed shifts during the peak period are provided.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and transport legislation

Responsibilities

• Completing store deliveries safely and efficiently
• Transporting palletised loads with minimal manual handling
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
• Completing transport paperwork and maintaining legal compliance

Rapier Employment is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Drivers for a leading retail logistics operation based in Hatfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure ongoing work with regular shift patterns, premium overtime rates, and long-term opportunities.

Shift Patterns

Choose the rota that works best for you:

• Tuesday to Saturday
• Sunday to Thursday
• Thursday to Monday
• Friday to Tuesday

Start Times

• Day Shifts:04:00 06:00
• Late Shifts:12:00 17:00

Pay Rates

Standard Hours

• £20.44 per hour(04:00 13:00)
• £21.76 per hour(13:00 04:00)

Overtime (After 8 Hours)

• £30.65 per hour(04:00 13:00)
• £32.65 per hour(13:00 04:00)

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 or 2 Driver, you'll deliver retail goods from the distribution centre to stores across North London, Essex, and Kent. Routes are well planned and consist primarily of palletised loads, with minimal manual handling required.

Depending on operational requirements, you may occasionally be asked to complete a second run.

• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
• Completing all transport paperwork and maintaining legal compliance
• Providing a professional and friendly service at every delivery point

Average shift lengths are 812 hours, with consistent start times and ongoing work available throughout the peak period.

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this role, you'll need:

• A valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsments)
• A good understanding of Drivers' Hours, the Working Time Directive, and transport legislation
