8 hours per week - over 2-3 days / Greenock
A part-time Personal Assistant is required to assist with social activities for a Greenock-based man with complex mental and physical health issues.
I am seeking a part-time (8 hours per week), Personal Assistant to provide some social support for myself. I am a 63-year-old man living with my wife and two dogs. Due to my complex mental and physical health issues and me no longer being able to drive, I require social support including assistance with shopping, leisure activities and attending church.
This is a permanent post, and the daytime hours would be across 2-3 days per week on days and times to be agreed between myself and the successful candidate (including one day per weekend). On occasions, flexibility may be required to respond to my changing needs (e.g. to assist with a medical appointment).
I love all things Science Fiction (in particular, Star Trek) and I love to watch this as well as Coronation Street and the Murdock Mysteries (I am not a fan of watching sport)! I enjoy archery and would very much like to start this up again and I also wish to visit church again (every second Sunday morning). I am keen to start Tai Chi and join a local community workshop called the Inverclyde Shed where I can rekindle my craft skills. I would require support in attending these. I also like shopping and would enjoy going for a cuppa, cake and a chat. I am looking for someone with similar interests.
I have mobility issues due to my various health conditions and therefore cannot walk great distances. I am a car owner however due to my health condition and medication; I am no longer able to drive. I would require my new PA to be able to drive my vehicle for the various social activities. An important thing for me is that my new PA an outgoing individual and not shy about motivating and encouraging me, should the need arise. As I struggle with poor mental health/low mood, I would require my PA to also have an empathetic, understanding and patient approach to my support.
