Job summary

Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living in the United Kingdom is seeking a Part-Time Female Personal Assistant to support a woman with complex medical needs at her home in NW Edinburgh, with a focus on dignity and independence.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility support, meal prep, light housekeeping, medication prompts, emotional support, and accompanying to appointments and outings. PVG membership is required or willing to join; pay is £13.65 per hour. Flexible hours Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experienced in a care role, ideally supporting individuals with disabilities, chronic pain, or fatigue.
• Compassionate, patient, empathetic, and positive in attitude.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and professional.
• Able to follow guidance however, also be intuitive to changing needs and use own initiative.
• PVG membership required or willingness to join.

Part-Time Female (GOR*) Personal Assistant Required

I am seeking a compassionate, reliable, and caring Personal Assistant (PA) to support me with complex medical needs.

About Me:

• I live independently in my own home, with family visiting regularly. Due to chronic pain, fatigue, and reduced mobility, I sometimes find everyday tasks difficult or impossible to manage alone. I am looking for a PA who will support me at my own pace, respect my dignity, and help me maintain as much independence as possible.
• I am an easy-going, relaxed, and caring person. I enjoy getting out when I feel able, although I can experience anxiety around this. Having the support of a PA would help me feel more confident and comfortable going out.
• I drive and have a car, and I would like my PA to accompany me on outings.
• I enjoy going out in nature and on short walks, for example, a visit to the botanical gardens. I use a powered wheelchair when out and about and have a hoist in my car.
• I share my home with a dog and a cat, so it is important that you are comfortable around animals.

The role

The goal of this role is to empower me to live a fulfilling and comfortable life while receiving the care and support I need.
