Dewis Centre for Independent Living is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a friendly 98-year-old lady in Penarth, UK. The role focuses on care at home and companionship to enable independent living, with regular hours and coverage for absences.
You will join a small team of carers and work closely with the client to maintain comfort and dignity. Hours include 10 hours every Wednesday (8am–8pm with a break), plus 2+ evenings per week (5pm–8pm) and extra hours as needed.
Personal Assistant
I am a friendly 98-year-old lady living in the Penarth area. I receive support from my two daughters and Personal Assistants (PA).
I am seeking a PA to provide me with care when required. The support is to help me to continue living at home as independently as possible and to provide me with companionship. The position would suit someone who is seeking some regular hours, and who would be available to cover others’ absences and emergencies.
I am looking for a PA to work for 10 hours every Wednesday. This will be 8am – 8pm with a 2-hour break.
Also 2 or more evenings per week which will be worked 5pm – 8pm.
There will also be extra hours available as and when to cover my other PAs annual leave and any sickness absence.
£15 per hour.
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
