Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a fast-moving civil engineering project in Grays (RM16). The role focuses on commercial delivery, contract compliance, and proactive cost management. An immediate start is available with a contract through to 31/12/2026 and potential extension.

You will support the project team, oversee packages, and bridge between junior and senior teams on site, delivering robust financial controls and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Essential experience in civil engineering construction.
• High priority for experience in highways sector.
• Must be computer literate and able to use the Seymour management system.
• Must hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide contractual and commercial advice to the project team in conjunction with the Commercial Manager.
• Ensure all contract requirements related to the project are complied with in full.
• Produce financial reporting related to schemes to the required standard and timetable.
• Manage subcontract procurement and administration, ensuring timely instructions and appropriate governance.
• Effectively manage supply chain variations, risk, and cashflow forecasting.
• Produce early warnings and compensation events in accordance with contract requirements.
• Ensure effective control of costs across all activities and deliver weekly reporting.
• Liaise effectively within the team, with other teams, and with the supply chain.

We are partnering with a leading international infrastructure group who are leading the transformation of our industry to meet the challenges of the future to recruit a driven Senior Quantity Surveyor

. With a multitude of new packages kicking off soon, our client needs a strong candidate who can step in, assist the wider team, and oversee packages independently without needing too much hands-on help

. This role is perfectly positioned to bridge the gap between the junior and senior teams on site

.

Hours:

8.5-hour workday, Mon to Fri

Contract:

Immediate start running until 31/12/2026, with the potential for extension

Key Responsibilities:

Support project development and delivery by providing contractual and commercial advice to the project team in conjunction with the Commercial Manager
