Job summary

MATTHEW'S FOODS LTD in Glasgow is seeking a Butchery Assistant / Meat Prep Assistant to support our team. This role focuses on packing meat, organising the chilled display, labelling products, and helping with basic cutting and preparation of meat and spare ribs.

You will check dates, rotate stock, keep the workspace clean, and follow strict food hygiene and safety procedures. The ideal candidate will have basic knife skills, good hygiene, reliable punctuality, and the right to work in the UK;

Qualifications

• Experience in meat packing or food preparation preferred.
• Basic knife skills required.
• Good hygiene and cleaning standards essential.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene/ Food Safety certificate preferred.
• Able to work in a chilled environment.
• Able to lift and move stock safely.

Job Title: Butchery Assistant / Meat Prep Assistant

Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:00am to 4:00pm

Pay: £15.00 per hour

About the role

We are looking for a Butchery Assistant / Meat Prep Assistant to join our team in Glasgow. This is not a full butcher role. The position mainly involves packing meat, filling and organising the chilled display, basic cutting and preparation such as meat and spare ribs, labelling products, checking dates, stock rotation, and cleaning the work area.
