Job summary

ABP UK, based in Glasgow, is seeking a General Operative for the chill production line. You will cut, bone, process and package goods to a quality standard, while meeting deadlines and following safety and labeling rules.

The role requires basic English, numeracy and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. On-site work with full-time hours and benefits are provided by ABP UK.

Role Definition:

Working in the chill production line area, using butchery implements and machinery, cut, bone, process and package goods to a quality standard, to deadlines, whilst complying at all times with company operating requirements.Paying special regard to;

• Quality, cost control, yield and utilisation
• Health, safety & ethics
• Product safety, authenticity and integrity,labelling and company, personal & food hygiene rules and legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce required products meeting company standards to planned volume and schedule
• Ensure necessary replenishment requirements
• Ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, hygiene, ethical, product labelling and allergen handlingprocesses
• Follow traceability process and ensure product & labelling integrity at all times
• Drive necessary line efficiency through consistent and correct machine operation
• Keep and maintain appropriate records as required
• Ensure own familiarity and compliance with company policies and procedures, standards of operation and safe operating procedures
• Ensure consistent and timely attendance at work
• Provide flexibility to meet company operating requirements
• Provide pro- and re-active and supportive verbal and written communication to team members, supervisors and managers
• To ensure all products are sourced and manufactured to the Food Safety & Brand Integrity requirements defined by our customers’ requirements & BRC standards.

Personal Specification

• Speaking, writing and understanding basic spoken and written English language. (This is an essential health & safety, traceability and quality control requirement)
