Job summary

Exeter School is seeking a practical, organised DT Technician to join the Design and Technology department in Exeter. You will support practical teaching by preparing materials and resources, and by maintaining tools, equipment and machinery.

The role also focuses on promoting safe working practices within well‑maintained workshops to enable effective teaching and learning. The post is part of the Operations and Professional Services team, onsite, 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri).

Job description

We are seeking a practical, organised, and enthusiastic DT Technician to join our Design and Technology department. Working closely with teachers and students, the successful candidate will support practical teaching by preparing materials and resources, maintaining tools, equipment and machinery, and promoting safe working practices within well-maintained workshops. The role contributes to the smooth running of the department by ensuring learning spaces are organised, safe, and fully prepared to support effective teaching and learning.

This role is part of our Operations and Professional Services team. It is an onsite position, working Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours per week. Applicants requesting a reduced schedule of 30 hours (4 days) per week will also be considered, with specific days to be agreed with the recruiting manager.
