Job summary

HIJOBS is seeking a Farm Technician for our Seawater site at Shuna, Craobh Haven, Scotland. The role is full-time and permanent, working 40 hours per week across any 5 days out of 7. The salary ranges from £29,389 to £32,914 per annum with overtime available at an enhanced rate.

The job focuses on fish feed, health, and welfare, as well as site maintenance and biosecurity. Training will be provided, with opportunities for career progression within aquaculture.

Qualifications

• Experience desirable, but not essential as training will be provided
• You will be required to hold, or able to obtain, and retain an ML5 or ENG1 medical certificate
• Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Leading on feed, control and inspection of fish
• Site housekeeping and maintenance
• Inspection and maintenance of equipment and facilities around the farm
• Identification and reporting of sea lice levels
• Monitoring and maintaining fish health and welfare

• General farm tasks to keep the whole operation running

About the job

The farm technician role is a crucial part of the operations process and ensures that the best management of our salmon is undertaken. We need our technicians to strive for continuous improvement and deliver on all aspects of farm work to keep the team on track and performing well. The job includes, but is not limited to:
