Job summary

Scottish Sea Farms Ltd is seeking a Processing Operative at our Lerwick facility to prepare products for dispatch while upholding quality, safety and efficiency.

We offer full training, opportunities for development and flexible working patterns. Both full-time and part-time roles are available, with a friendly, supportive team environment across our production sites.

Job description

We are looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team at our Lerwick Processing Facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has an interest in aquaculture.

Initially offered as a temporary role over the summer months, there is potential for the position to become permanent.

About the role

As a Processing Operative, you'll play an important role in preparing our products for dispatch while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating processing machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Cleaning and preparing fish in line with company procedures and quality standards.
  • Grading products to meet customer specifications.
  • Packing finished products accurately and efficiently for dispatch.
  • Maintaining high standards of product quality throughout the production process.
  • Following all hygiene, food safety, health and safety, and environmental procedures.
The ideal candidate

We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals who:

  • Enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Can be flexible with working hours to meet business needs.

Previous experience isn't essential, as full training will be provided.

This role is not eligible for skilled visa sponsorship, therefore we are unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship to work in the UK.
