Job summary

The Best Connection is currently recruiting C+E HGV Tramper Drivers for longer-distance driving assignments across the UK. This is a guaranteed 10-week assignment with the potential for a permanent position on completion.

Shifts are around 10 hours, with routes changing weekly and for longer-distance journeys nationwide. You’ll use the Amazon Relay app for route details, and a 24-hour driver support line is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months HGV driving experience required.
• Tramper experience advantageous but not essential.
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.
• Ability to work independently on longer-distance journeys.
• Flexible approach to working hours and varying routes.
• Strong communication and professional attitude.
• Experience with smartphone apps, especially Amazon Relay.

Job description

Assignment: 10-week guaranteed assignment, with the opportunity for a permanent position to be offered upon completion.

Hours: Approximately 10-hour shifts, with varying start times and routes depending on operational requirements. 10 hours paid per shift.

Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour (10 hours paid).

Additional Allowance: £25.00 night allowance per night, where applicable.

Incentive Payments: Incentive payments available, with further details to be discussed with the agency.

Role Overview:

The Best Connection is currently recruiting C+E HGV Tramper Drivers for longer-distance driving assignments.

Only 2 positions available - Starting Sunday 24th October!

The successful candidates will undertake longer-distance journeys nationwide, with additional incentives available for certain routes.

Drivers will generally complete fewer than five drops per run, with routes varying from week to week depending on operational requirements.

Routes will be communicated through the Amazon Relay app, with drivers generally receiving their schedules on the Thursday of the preceding week. Final run notifications may be issued approximately 15 hours before the shift.

A 24-hour driver support telephone line will be available.

This is a guaranteed 10-week assignment, with the potential for a permanent position to be offered.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will be reliable, professional and confident undertaking longer-distance HGV driving assignments.

You must be comfortable working independently, adapting to changing routes and maintaining high standards of driving and customer service.

Previous tramper experience is not essential, as a full induction and assessment will be provided before your first operational shift.

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 12 months' driving experience.
• Willingness to download and use the Amazon Relay app.

Working Conditions

• Approximately 10-hour shifts.
• 10 hours paid per shift.

• Routes may vary from week to week.
• Sunday operations between 02:00 and 23:00, including early and late starts.
• Route information generally provided on the Thursday before the working week.
• Day 1 induction followed by an assessment before the first operational shift.
