Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting C+E HGV tramper drivers for longer-distance nationwide work. This is a 10-week guaranteed assignment with the potential for a permanent position. Positions: 2, starting Sunday 24th October, with shifts and routes varying by operational needs.

Shifts are about 10 hours; pay is £18.00 per hour (10 hours paid) plus £25 night allowance where applicable. Incentive payments may be available; schedules are issued via the Amazon Relay app, with 24-hour driver support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' HGV driving experience.
• Tramper experience advantageous but not essential.
• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Willingness to download and use the Amazon Relay app.

Responsibilities

• Undertake longer-distance journeys nationwide.

ONLY 2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Start Date: Sunday 24th October

Assignment: 10-week guaranteed assignment, with the opportunity for a permanent position to be offered upon completion.

Hours: Approximately 10-hour shifts, with varying start times and routes depending on operational requirements. 10 hours paid per shift.

Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour (10 hours paid).

Additional Allowance: £25.00 night allowance per night, where applicable.

Incentive Payments: Incentive payments available, with further details to be discussed with the agency.

Role Overview:

The Best Connection is currently recruiting C+E HGV Tramper Drivers for longer-distance driving assignments.

Only 2 positions available - Starting Sunday 24th October!

The successful candidates will undertake longer-distance journeys nationwide, with additional incentives available for certain routes.

Drivers will generally complete fewer than five drops per run, with routes varying from week to week depending on operational requirements.

Routes will be communicated through the Amazon Relay app, with drivers generally receiving their schedules on the Thursday of the preceding week. Final run notifications may be issued approximately 15 hours before the shift.

A 24-hour driver support telephone line will be available.

This is a guaranteed 10-week assignment, with the potential for a permanent position to be offered.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• Minimum 12 months' HGV driving experience.
• Previous tramper experience advantageous but not essential.
• Good geographical knowledge and route-planning awareness.
• Ability to work independently and manage longer-distance journeys.
• Flexible approach to working hours and varying routes.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Comfortable using smartphone applications, particularly Amazon Relay.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will be reliable, professional and confident undertaking longer-distance HGV driving assignments.

You must be comfortable working independently, adapting to changing routes and maintaining high standards of driving and customer service.

Previous tramper experience is not essential, as a full induction and assessment will be provided before your first operational shift.

• Sunday operations between 02:00 and 23:00, including early and late starts.
• Route information generally provided on the Thursday before the working week.
