Job summary

Corbenic Camphill Community in Perthshire seeks a caring Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities live as independently as possible within a residential setting. You will provide person-centred care, support daily living activities and promote dignity and wellbeing.

You will assist with personal care, meals, housekeeping and attending health appointments, while collaborating with a house team to create a warm home environment. Training and SVQ progression are supported.

Qualifications

  • SVQ in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Current SSSC registration is required.
  • Experience in health or social care is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care tailored to each resident.
  • Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Administer medication according to policies.
  • Support residents at healthcare appointments and community activities.
  • Contribute to care planning and keep records up to date.
  • Help with meals, housekeeping and laundry.
  • Work with colleagues to deliver outstanding care.
  • Adhere to Health & Social Care Standards and Corbenic policies.
  • Participate in training, supervision and development.
  • Take part in sleepovers and a rota including evenings and weekends.

Job description

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, high-quality care and practical support to residents, enabling them to live as independently as possible while promoting choice, dignity and wellbeing.

Working as part of a dedicated house team, you'll support residents with their daily routines, personal care, health appointments, activities and communication, while also helping to create a warm and welcoming home through cooking, cleaning and other household tasks.

No two days are the same, making this a rewarding role for someone who enjoys variety and making a positive impact.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred care and support tailored to each resident's individual needs.
  • Support with personal care, daily living activities and promoting independence.
  • Administer medication in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Support residents to attend healthcare appointments, workshops and community activities.
  • Contribute to care planning and maintain accurate records.
  • Promote residents' rights, choices and wellbeing.
  • Prepare meals and carry out domestic duties including cleaning and laundry.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide outstanding care.
  • Maintain high standards in line with Health & Social Care Standards, SSSC Codes of Practice and Corbenic policies.
  • Participate in training, supervision and ongoing professional development.
  • Take part in sleepovers and a rota that includes evenings and weekends.
