Job summary

Perry Hall Multi-Academy Trust invites applications for an experienced Assistant Headteacher. You will play a major role under the Headteacher/Executive Team in formulating aims, establishing policies and managing staff to raise teaching and learning outcomes across Trust schools.

You will lead quality improvement, use data to drive change, and motivate staff to build high-performing teams. Commitment to safeguarding and Trust ethos is essential.

Qualifications

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are now seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic, inspiring leader with high expectations and ambition for all children to rapidly drive quality improvement in all aspects of teaching and learning to ensure improved outcomes for all.

The successful candidate will:

  • have previous experience of leading quality improvement, including a proven track record of securing sustained improvements in teaching and learning, across a wide range of areas,
  • have the ability to gather, analyse and interpret information to help effect change and improvement,
  • be passionate about children’s success and will be driven to make their experiences and outcomes the best they can be,
  • have the ability to motivate and inspire staff, solve problems and effectively manage performance to create high performing teams across the Trust,
  • have a thorough and up to date knowledge of educational developments and best practice and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • be an outstanding practitioner who is able to support and improve quality of teaching and learning,
  • have experience of leading EYFS and KS1.
  • Have experience or be willing to lead on Early Reading

Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION – Assistant Headteacher

A person appointed Assistant Head Teacher in a school, in addition to carrying out the professional duties of a teacher other than a Headteacher (as described in Part XII) including those duties particularly assigned to his/her by the Head or Executive Team, shall:

Play a major role under the overall direction of the Headteacher and/or Executive Team in:

(a) Formulating the aims and objectives of the school.

(b) Establishing the policies through which they shall be achieved.

(c) Managing staff and resources to that end.

(d) Monitoring progress towards their achievement.

Undertake any professional duties of the Assistant Headteacher reasonably delegated to him/her by the Head and or Executive Team.

Undertake to the extent required by the Head and or Executive Team, PHMAT Trust Board, the professional duties of the Head in the event of his/her absence from the school.

Ensure that they uphold the vision, values and ethos of the Trust at all times.

Be entitled to a break of reasonable length as near to the middle of each school day as is reasonably practicable.
