Job summary

Randstad Education is partnering with a Bromley-based Further Education college to recruit a Learning Support Assistant & First Aider. This role centres on helping learners with SEN achieve EHCP targets and build independent futures within a term-time schedule.

You will serve as the designated College First Aider, supporting personal care and mobility, while collaborating with teaching staff to update plans and monitor progress.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

This pivotal role allows you to make a meaningful daily impact, helping young people and adult learners with special educational needs (SEN) overcome barriers to learning, achieve their EHCP targets, and build independent futures.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Provide tailored educational, personal development, and accessibility support to learners with SEN across diverse curriculum areas.

Act as an active, designated College First Aider, responding swiftly to campus medical needs and ensuring learner safety.

Support learners with personal care, mobility needs, and physical well-being with dignity and respect.

Assist in delivering outcomes outlined in individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and person-centred support plans.

Help students develop self-advocacy, study skills, and confidence to access all college services and activities.

Collaborate with teaching staff, support coordinators, and external key workers to update support plans and report progression.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications:

Essential First Aid certification (or immediate willingness to gain certification), alongside Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
