Job summary

UKCIL is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support a young man in Cornhill-on-Tweed every Friday, 9am–4pm, with responsibilities including personal care and social activities. Rate £18.40 per hour and a Motability car can be provided.

You should have experience with learning disabilities and complex needs, a clean UK driving licence, enhanced DBS, and be reliable and discreet.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and complex physical needs.
• Positive, motivated and approachable with a good sense of humour.
• Flexible and able to cover holidays or sickness.
• Practical, reliable, trustworthy, and able to use your initiative.
• Punctual and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
• Clean UK driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to the client.
• Support social and leisure activities.
• Training: safeguarding, moving & handling, understanding challenging behaviour, hand hygiene.
• Transport: drive with a UK driving licence; use Motability car when provided.
• Continence care as needed.

About the Role

• Hours: Fridays, 9am–4pm
  • 9am–1pm supporting the client at Duns Swimming Pool (must be comfortable in water)
  • 1pm–4pm supporting at a local day service
• Rate of pay: £18.40 per hour
• Location: Cornhill
• Transport: Car driver required – Motability car provided
