Job summary

YourRecruit Ltd is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in day-to-day leadership of a Children's Residential Home. You will help provide a safe, nurturing environment and ensure high standards of care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

Key duties include leading shifts and staff supervision, safeguarding, recording, and building strong relationships with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker or management role in children's residential care.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willing to work towards).
• Passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day leadership of a Children's Residential Home. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about delivering outstanding care and making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

The successful candidate will help ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment, maintaining high standards of care and compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements.

Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Care

Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
• Deputise in the Registered Manager's absence.
• Lead, motivate and supervise the staff team, promoting a positive and supportive culture.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
• Ensure high-quality, person-centred care and positive outcomes for young people.
• Lead shifts, oversee staff rotas and support the development of the team through supervision and mentoring.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure policies, procedures and safeguarding practices are followed.
• Build positive relationships with families, social workers and external professionals.
• Participate in the management on-call rota and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker or management role within a children's residential setting.
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• A passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience managing safeguarding, risk and challenging situations.
• Ability to inspire and support a high-performing team.
• Good IT, administration and record-keeping skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
• Previous experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
