Job summary

At Bupa's Richmond Villages Cheltenham, we provide luxurious retirement living with person-centred care. A Senior Care Assistant will support the nursing team, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and update digital care plans to ensure seamless care delivery.

The role bridges staff and residents with professionalism and empathy. With an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, you will lead a team of Care Assistants, oversee shifts, help train new staff, and foster strong relationships

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is required.
• Experience with medical tasks and care planning preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A Senior Care Assistant is essential within our care home, providing vital support to the nursing team with clinical duties. They ensure residents receive high-quality care by assisting with medical tasks such as administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and updating digital care plans. Their role bridges the gap between nursing staff and residents, ensuring seamless and efficient care delivery. With an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Senior Care Assistants bring expertise and professionalism, enhancing the overall care environment. You’ll help us make health happen by:

• Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
• Supporting with clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and accurate record keeping
• Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams
• Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
• Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
• Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
