Job summary

Bupa is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant to lead a unit, support the nurse with clinical duties, and deliver high-quality, personalised care to residents.

You will train and supervise Care Assistants, manage shift handovers and build relationships with residents, families, GPs and District Nurses. Bupa offers training on digital care, a long-standing heritage, and a supportive environment focused on dignity and independence.

Qualifications

  • Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care.
  • Experience in running a unit and supporting nurses in clinical duties.
  • Passion for making a real difference to residents’ lives with kindness and dignity.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit.
  • Support with clinical duties, including observing, issuing medication, reviewing care plans and accurate record keeping.
  • Drive and manage a team of Care Assistants, including shift handovers.
  • Assist with training and supervision of new staff to ensure they feel welcomed and supported.
  • Build relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses.
  • Assist residents with a range of personal care duties.

You’ll help us make health happen by:


  • Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit

  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:


  • You’ll have completed / working towards an NVQ3 in care. We’re more than happy to support you in the completion of your qualification if needed.

  • You’re motivated, positive and with great interpersonal skills, and you enjoy working in a close-knit team. You’re pivotal in running a unit, working with the Nurse to aid with clinical duties for the home.

  • You have previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges. Just as importantly, you also have a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them the kindness, personalised support and dignity they need.
