Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS group, is hiring for a hands-on two-person delivery role. You will complete 10-15 deliveries daily, install furniture in customers’ homes, and work in a supportive team. The role is physical, involving lifting and navigating stairs, with training provided.

We offer great pay: £28,189 per year plus up to £2,000 annual bonus. Shift pattern 7am–7pm on a 4-on, 4-off cycle, guaranteed 39.35 hours/week, with full training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Willingness to perform heavy lifting and navigate stairs.
• Good communication with customers.
• Ability to work as part of a two-person delivery team.

Responsibilities

• Complete deliveries into customers’ homes safely and professionally.
• Communicate with the customer before delivery.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the requested room and no rubbish is left behind.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company and brand partners in all activities.
• Work with the team and managers to feedback and improve service standards.
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report defects.

You’ll work as part of a skilled 2-person delivery team, completing 10-15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers’ homes. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you’ll thrive here.

What you’ll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you’re on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.

• You’ve held a valid driver’s licence for 12 months with less than 6 points
• You’re great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• You’re comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
