Job summary

The Sofa Delivery Company, part of the DFS group, is recruiting for a two-person delivery driver in Hedge End. You will complete 10–15 deliveries daily, install furniture in customers’ homes, and work 7am–7pm on a 4-on, 4-off cycle with a guaranteed 39.35 hours/week.

Offers include a base salary of £37,271 per annum (£18.15 per hour) plus an annual bonus up to £2,000, plus a £1,000 sign-on bonus. Generous discounts and wellbeing support are also available.

Qualifications

• Must have a 7.5T Licence/Grandfather rights/ROI equivalent, up-to-date Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid manual driving licence.
• Hold a valid driver’s licence for 12 months with less than 6 points.
• Be ready to work as part of a two-person team.
• Great with people and enjoy helping customers.
• Comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
• Strong time management skills and thrive on variety.
• Pride in your work and safety.

Responsibilities

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate with the customer prior to delivery to confirm route and arrival.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the requested room and no rubbish is left for disposal.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and partner brands in all actions.
• Collaborate with team and senior managers to feedback and improve service standards.
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment inspections and report defects.
• Comply with driving laws and company policies.

You’ll work as part of a skilled 2‑person delivery team, completing 10–15 deliveries a day and installing furniture in customers’ homes. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding role involving regular lifting of heavy items and navigating stairs and tight spaces. If you take pride in doing a job properly, you’ll thrive here.

What you'll be doing

• Complete all deliveries into customers’ homes in a safe and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with the customer prior to delivery to ensure that they know you’re on your way to their address.
• Ensure furniture is delivered to the room requested by the customer and that we do not leave them with any rubbish to dispose of.
• Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
• Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
• Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
• Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.
