Job summary

Veolia in the United Kingdom is seeking a strategic HR leader on a 9-month fixed term contract. The role requires collaboration with senior leadership to shape people strategies and deliver robust employee relations and HRBP support across the business unit.

This hybrid position involves regular travel to Cannock and London to engage with teams, implement talent mapping, workforce planning, and drive continuous improvement in people performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic HR solutions, business insights, and medium to long-term support on people-related matters.
  • Manage and motivate a high-performing team of Employee Relations Specialists and HR Business Partners.
  • Drive talent mapping and succession planning reviews across corporate business lines.
  • Provide expert Employee Relations knowledge and advice, manage complex disciplinary and grievance issues, and serve as escalation point for Trade Union matters.
  • Lead the annual pay and bonus cycle, objective setting, and PDP processes.
  • Drive workforce planning aligned with Veolia's future vision.
  • Support mobilisation and integration of TUPE and potential mergers.

We are currently looking to add to our high performing HR team on a temporary basis due to the current incumbent taking a secondment.

What you'll be doing:


  • Work cohesively with Senior Leadership teams and Executive Committee to provide strategic HR solutions, business insights, and medium to long-term support on people-related matters.

  • Manage and motivate a high-performing team of Employee Relations Specialists and HR Business Partners, ensuring excellent service levels.

  • Drive full talent mapping and succession planning reviews across corporate business lines, developing and mobilising talent throughout the business unit

  • Provide expert Employee Relations knowledge and advice, manage complex disciplinary and grievance issues, and serve as escalation point for Trade Union matters.

  • Lead the annual pay and bonus cycle, objective setting, and personal development plan processes for the Business Unit.

  • Drive workforce planning activities aligned with Veolia's future vision, identifying skills and knowledge gaps.

  • Support successful mobilisation and integration of TUPE and potential mergers, cascading HR strategy across the business.


What we're looking for:


  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to think strategically and put strategy into action.

  • Experience operating as a trusted advisor to board-level executives and Senior Leadership Teams.

  • Expert knowledge of current HR matters including Employment Law, Industrial Relations, Workforce Planning, Succession Planning and complex ER cases

  • The ability to utilise company analytics to drive company performance.

  • Demonstrable experience in leading and motivating high-performing teams, improving employee engagement, and creating a high-performing culture.
