Job summary

Poplars Nursing and Residential Home seeks a Domestic and Laundry Assistant to join its team in Burton upon Trent. The role covers cleaning and laundry duties for residents, ensuring a safe, comfortable environment. The post offers a 32‑hour week at £12.80 per hour, with a rota including weekends and bank holidays.

Laundry and Domestic Assistant - Poplars

We are recruiting for a Domestic and Laundry Assistant to join our team at Poplars Nursing and Residential Home.

Rate of pay: £12.80

Hours: 32 hours per week

Schedule: Rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays.

Location: Burton on Trent, DE13

Responsibilities: As a Domestic and Laundry Assistant, you will work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment.

Further responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Adhere to the home’s cleaning schedules
• Provide deep cleaning and preparation of bedrooms as required
• Manage cleaning supplies and notify the Home Manager or appropriate person when new supplies are required.
• Ensure the appropriate agent is used for each area to be cleaned
• Adhere to the health and safety, and infection control policies and ensure cleaning is in line with recommendations. Adhere to the Care Centre’s disposal of waste and COSHH policies.
• As a Laundry Assistant, you will work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the care home, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment. You will maintain the cleanliness of linen, towels, and Clients’ personal clothing alongside ensuring the laundry room and equipment remains clean and tidy. This will include washers, dryers, laundry bags, lint trays, vents and floors.
